Glasbedrijf Groningen

A complete rebuild of the website for a glazier company in Groningen. From a polished, consistent brand presentation and a custom WordPress theme to region focused SEO landing pages and a full website and email migration. One partner, end to end, without template bloat.

Custom WordPressBrandingLocal SEO & GEOMigration

Glasbedrijf Groningen is a local specialist in insulating glass, glass damage repair, painting and wood rot repair. For this project I rebuilt the entire digital foundation: a sharper, more consistent brand presentation, a fast custom site and a findability structure aimed at the regions where they want to grow.

Challenge

The existing website was outdated and did not reflect the company’s new services. New specialisms such as painting and wood rot repair were missing, the structure was unclear and the site was barely visible locally. There was also no clear path from visitor to quote request. The client wanted one partner who could fully handle the brand, technology, copy and launch, without monthly costs for separate plugins and page builders.

Solution

A full-service journey from brand to launch:

  • Existing brand carried through cleanly: the client’s logo and colours applied consistently and more professionally than on the old website, documented in a brand book.
  • Custom WordPress theme in version control, built without a page builder and without plugin bloat, for speed and full ownership.
  • Clear page structure for services, glass types, subsidies (Nij Begun and ISDE), quote and contact, so visitors quickly find the right answer.
  • Region-focused landing pages for Glazier Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, aimed at local search intent.
  • Conversion-focused quote flow with a dimensions form and a clearly explained process, from request to site visit.
  • Technical SEO with unique meta titles and descriptions per page, a clean sitemap, 301 redirects and connections to Google Search Console, Analytics 4 and Tag Manager. This makes organic growth measurable, helps spot search opportunities and lets the content respond to what people actually search for.
  • Ready for AI search engines (GEO), so the business is also found in answers from ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, not just Google.
  • Full migration of hosting, domain and email to the new environment. A fixed migration window was planned together with the client, keeping downtime under 20 minutes.

GEO: getting found in AI answers

More and more people no longer search on Google but ask an AI assistant like ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity directly. GEO, or Generative Engine Optimization, is structuring a website so AI models can read, understand and cite the content in their answers. For Glasbedrijf Groningen I built that foundation from the start: the site is open to AI crawlers and the copy is clear and factual, structured around services, glass types, subsidy and regions. I also deliberately added FAQ blocks with short question-and-answer formats, exactly the kind of concise answers that AI assistants can easily pick up and cite. If someone later asks an AI assistant who installs HR++ glass in Groningen, the business has a better chance of being mentioned. That is a concrete edge, because almost no local competitor focuses on this yet.

Result

A fast, professional website that is fully owned by Glasbedrijf Groningen. The company now has a polished online presence, a clear service structure and regional pages that lay the foundation for local growth in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe. No template bloat and no unnecessary monthly fees, only code and content that work for findability and enquiries.
